  • Addingham parish council to increase precept

    Addingham Parish Council is to increase its precept after losing rental money from Bradford Council. Members agreed to charge the community a total of £27,146 for its services in 2012-13, an increase of almost eight per cent. A Band D householder will pay £15.95, which is on top of council tax payable to Bradford Council. Coun Gordon Campbell said the rise was influenced by the council’s loss of around £2,400 of income. Bradford Council had rented the ground floor of the Old School on Main Street for the village library, but had pulled out as a cost saving measure. With the facility now run by a charitable organisation, the parish council has agreed to waive the rent.
